Albert Eugene "Gene" Otis, 81, of Knob Noster formerly of Boonville, MO, passed away on February 10, 2025 from a battle with vascular dementia. He was born on March 1, 1943, in Rolla, MO, to Richard and Ida (Maxwell) Otis. On April 28, 1988, he married "Becky" Billie Rebecca Simmons in Ashland, MO.

Gene is survived by his beloved wife Becky; He has two daughters with his first wife Phyllis; Sherry (Mike) and their children Erin, Elizabeth, Zachary, Caitlin, and grandchildren Lucy, Harry, Gracie, Charlie, Romi, Dawson, Luke, Henley, and Bentley; and Missy (Dan) and their children David, Emma, Rachel, and Cecelia. He is also survived by his stepson John (Brenda) Rhinehart, and children Justin, and Clint (Brie) and their son Austin, and sister-in-law Nancy (Mike) Marn; and sisters Brenda and Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ivan, Ronald "Jim" and Donald.

Gene was a hardworking man and a skilled mechanic, dedicating over 50 years to MFA, which was one of his proudest accomplishments. Gene was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and beautiful brown eyes. He had a deep love for horses, the outdoors, cutting wood, and spending time in his shop, often enjoying his pipe.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Warrensburg Manor for their care and to Lizzy at Harbor Hospice. Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Warrensburg Animal Shelter and left in the care of the funeral home.
