Ann Yvonne Hurley Slifer was born into this world on the farm in Cerro Gordo, IL on July 20, 1930. She is heaven bound now, passing at age 92 on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

Yvonne was a tomboy and loved sports and music. She played drums and piano in High School. Yvonne worked as telephone operator then ticket agent for Ozark Airlines in STL. When Dale got out of the service, he landed in STL and spent time with her that sealed the deal attending Cardinal baseball games and Billy Graham Revival. They married on May 30, 1953, moving first to Decatur then Charleston, IL, Camp Walter Scott near Effingham, St. Joseph, MO, and finally Warrensburg, MO.

Three children loved their parents unconditionally: Elizabeth, Dave, and Paul. Over the years, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as great-great grandchildren joined the Slifer clan; all felt the love of Yvonne and Dale. And of course, their nieces and nephews as well as in-laws felt that love as well.

Finding a Disciple church was a priority in each move that they made. Yvonne was very active in all aspects of church, from Sunday School teacher to Elder and on the Board. Faith was strong and shared with family and friends no matter where they landed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hasan, Amy's Loving Care, and the staff of Research Hospital of KC for the excellent care that Yvonne received.

Join in her Celebration or Life at First Christian Church of Warrensburg on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. The visitation will last from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Memorials may be made to FCC, 101 E Gay St, Warrensburg, MO, 64093, or to your own church.
