Barbara Jeane Rothganger, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her family home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Barbara was born on December 24, 1936, to her parents, Marjorie Wana Velman Sylvester and Charles Keith Sylvester.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Grant Owen Sylvester.

Barbara married her sweetheart, Fred on December 26, 1955. They spent 67 years happily married. Barbara was invited to church by her neighbors as a young girl and gave her life to Christ shortly after. As an adult she was known to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others.

Barbara served in every church she was a part of as a Sunday school teacher, young adult leader, and women's ministry leader. As a wife and mother, she was generous, loving, and kind. She and Fred taught their girls about Jesus and the value of a Christ-centered life. In her free time, Barbara loved animals, reading books, and spending time with her family as often as possible. Her legacy is that of a God-fearing woman who loved to spread the gospel to all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her husband Fred Henry Rothganger; three daughters Sheryl Keeler and husband, Roger, Stacy Solomon and husband Rick, Sara Peck and husband Todd; her brother Gary Keith Sylvester; as well as twenty-one grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
