Obituary

Bonnie Lee Carpenter, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Warrensburg, Missouri on April 22, 2023. Bonnie was born in Dodge City, KS to Mervin and Velma (Tuttle) Wilson and spent her life devoted to her family and community.

As a dedicated member of the Grover Park Church, Bonnie was known for her warm and welcoming spirit. Her love for small children and older friends made her an active participant in the foster Grandparent Program at the Warrensburg Schools. She never met a stranger and was always eager to learn about others' stories, asking her favorite question, "Who do you belong to?"

Bonnie had a fulfilling career at KU Med Center, where she worked in data entry for many years. She was also an active minister's wife to her first husband, Douglas Butler, before marrying her beloved George Carpenter. She was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms, inspiring those around her to do the same.

Bonnie is survived by her three children; Ronda Worden of Dodge City, KS, and son Zane Worden, Ross Butler and his wife Ginger of Larned, KS, and their children Brittany Seltman and husband Steven, Brooke Butler, and Raphael Butler and his wife Vicki and their daughters Makayla Denton and husband Colton, and Ava Lee Butler of Moxee, WA, her brothers; Bill Wilson and Wife Roberta, Dean Wilson and wife Kim, Leon Wilson and wife Sharon, her sister-in-law Barbara Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George Carpenter, her parents, and brother Don Wilson.

A memorial service to celebrate Bonnie's life will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00am at the Grover Park Baptist Church. There will be a visitation prior to service beginning at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Grover Park Baptist Church.

Bonnie will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her warm and loving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved her. Rest in peace, dear Bonnie.
