Boyd O'Brien
Stevenson
Sep 6, 1941 — Jul 5, 2026
Boyd O'Brien Stevenson, 84, of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 5, 2026.
Born on September 6, 1941, in Brownsville, Texas, Boyd lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, kindness, and devotion to his family.
Boyd was the beloved husband of Pat Stevenson, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and helping others. Their enduring partnership was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew them.
On July 4, 1977, Boyd and Pat moved to Warrensburg, Missouri, where Boyd established Boyd's Fix-It Shop, an equipment and automotive repair business that became well known throughout the community. Boyd earned the trust and respect of his customers through his honesty, skill, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether repairing a vehicle, assisting a stranded motorist, or lending a hand to a neighbor, Boyd was always willing to put others before himself.
Beyond his work, Boyd had a lifelong passion for motorsports. He spent many Friday nights at Central Missouri Speedway, where he became a familiar face among racers, crews, and fans. Throughout the years, he sponsored race cars, helped design and build race vehicles, and worked in the pit area alongside driver-owners and racing teams. Even after stepping away from the garage, Boyd continued to enjoy spending Friday evenings in the grandstands, cheering on the racers and staying connected to the sport he loved.
Those who knew Boyd remember him as a patient, thoughtful, and genuinely caring man. He was known for doing the right thing, often helping people when they were facing difficult circumstances. His quiet wisdom, gentle encouragement, and generous spirit touched countless lives.
Above all, Boyd was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He took great pride in his family and enjoyed sharing his knowledge, teaching practical skills, and encouraging those he loved to pursue their goals with confidence and determination. Whether teaching someone how to repair an engine, solve a problem, or simply approach life with perseverance, Boyd's influence extended far beyond his workshop.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Pat Stevenson; his sons, Marty Stevenson and wife Teri of Warrensburg, Missouri, Jason Stevenson and wife Tammy of Brick, New Jersey; his grandchildren, Monika Stevenson of Columbia, Missouri, and Kyle Stevenson of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; and his great-granddaughter, Siera Stevenson of Columbia, Missouri.
Boyd's legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the community he served, and the many people whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, and example.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
