Obituary

Carol June Tate Hutcherson, 71, passed away on April 15, 2023 after a battle with liver disease.

Carol was born on February 29, 1952 to Willie (Bill) and Anna (June) Tate in Warrensburg, Missouri. Carol attended Warrensburg High School and graduated in 1970. After graduation she married Kent Hutcherson on June 13, 1970. In 1974 Kent and Carol moved to Eldon, Missouri where they raised their three children.

Carol served many years in the service of the Lord as a church secretary, church musician, pastor's wife, and the Lake Area Baptist Association secretary. She worked several years with Lake Ozark Campground Ministries. She was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church. She also served through music which she loved doing. Carol was in the church choir, played hand bells and piano and sang solos. Carol also loved serving her community by volunteering and serving as secretary of Gateway Industries.

Outside of her service Carol enjoyed spending time with Kent. They spent time drag racing with BHW racing where Carol drove the team's tow vehicle and drove powder puff races on circle tracks. She loved camping, gospel sings, crafts and spending time with family.

Carol is survived by her husband Kent Hutcherson, of the home, four siblings Joyce (Dell) Stephens of Warrensburg Missouri, Betty (Bill) Thoms of Warrensburg Missouri, Julia (Doug) Stryker of Pleasant Hill Missouri, Herbert (Tina) Tate of Harrisburg South Carolina. Three children Tammy (Michael) Porter of Eldon Missouri, Robin (Chad) Currence of Warrensburg Missouri, Carl (Amber) Hutcherson of Warrensburg Missouri. Five grandchildren Anna (David) McGinnis, Alexander Hutcherson, Grace Porter, Aaron Currence, and David Currence, and three great grandchildren Waylon, Kelsey and Ryker McGinnis.

Carol was preceded in her death by her parents Willie Lee Tate and Anna June (Ball) Tate and her brother David Lee Tate.

She was a bright light in our lives, and now they are dimmer without her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made at Mt. Herman Baptist Church or the Lake Ozark Baptist Association.

Memorial arrangements pending.

Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not get weary.
