Carole Ruth
Burgess
Dec 12, 1942 — Sep 9, 2024
Carole Ruth (Robison) Burgess went home to be with her Lord & Savior on September 9, 2024. Carole had an amazing life and touched many people along the way.
Carole was born on December 12, 1942, to Leo W and Mildred L (Warren) Robison in Granite, OK. The family moved to Oklahoma City, where Carole attended school, graduating from U.S. Grant High School. Originally planning to be a hairstylist, Carole attended beauty school but discovered it wasn't for her. Carole obtained her Nurse Aide certificate and began her life's work as a caregiver. On her path, Carole obtained her License Practical Nurse degree and went on to obtain her Registered Nurse degree in September 1977. During her career, Carole worked in nursing homes, in hospitals as a floor nurse and head nurse, and ended her career as a home health care provider. Carole spent 40+ years caring for the sick and helping people get well. Carole felt very blessed to be able to serve her community in this manner.
Next to her faith in God, the most important thing in Carole's life was her family. We mourn the loss of Mom and Nana from our lives but rejoice in knowing she is safe in the arms of Jesus and seeing her family that was waiting for her with open arms and love. Mom's love and caring made us the people we are, and we celebrate her life. The staff and congregation of Bethel Baptist Church, have our gratitude for everything they did for Mom over the years.
Carole was preceded in death by her mother, father, and two sets of grandparents. Carole is survived by her son Rob and his wife Mary; granddaughter Jessica Mercado and her husband Jorge; grandson Andrew and wife Natalia; and her five great-grandchildren, Merida, Melina, Mariela, Mateo, and Maya.
A memorial service to celebrate Carole's life will be held September 28, 2024, 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Bethel Baptist Church (416 MO-13 Warrensburg MO 64093).
