Cheryl Goodrich, age 77, of Leeton, MO, passed away peacefully Monday, October 26, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City surrounded by her family.
She was born November 5, 1948, in Endicott, NY, the daughter of Walter and Norma (Cornell) Larson. Cheryl was united in marriage to Richard "Jack" Goodrich on April 29 th , 1967. Cheryl and Jack raised their 4 children on a dairy farm in Greene, New York until moving to Knob Noster in 1992. After moving to Knob Noster, Cheryl and Jack ran the Office Café and Greene Acres mobile home park until the early 2000's. Jack preceded her in death in 2004.
Throughout the following years, Cheryl worked a few different jobs including the Warrensburg License Bureau, Bank of Leeton, and the Clinton License Bureau most recently upon her retirement in 2020. While most people have known her as Cheryl, she could also be referred to as "Mustang Sally" with her assortment of blonde wigs and cowboy hats sitting behind her DJ table. Cheryl enjoyed playing music and performing karaoke at an assortment of places including weddings, celebrations, and even the Eagle's lodge in Clinton on Saturday nights.
After moving to Leeton in 2020, she blossomed in the community. Cheryl also loved to cook, often cooking for an army when she was feeding a handful. She started using those talents to provide meals for those in the community just to be able to share the delicious meals and treats she made. If you went hungry around Cheryl, you must have shown up to the wrong house.
On March 22nd, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Leeton, Cheryl devoted her life to Christ and was baptized in front of family, friends, and fellow members of the congregation. She enjoyed lifting others in prayer, sharing in bible studies, and volunteering, even for other community congregations.
Cheryl knew no stranger. Her loving presence, kind heart, and warm hugs will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her throughout the years. May she always be remembered for her love of family, friends, Christ, and karaoke.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Rick Goodrich, Jennifer (Chris) Bolles, Paula (Dewayne) Prince, and Jesse (Jennifer) Goodrich; her grandchildren, Stevie Goodrich, Bradley Goodrich, David Goodrich, Stephanie Peerson, Megan Smith, April West, Taylor Prince, Ella Goodrich, and Lyndi Goodrich; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and a very large extended family.
She was preceded in death by Jack Goodrich and her parents Walter and Norma Larson.
In true Cheryl fashion, a celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Cheryl's birthday Thursday, November 5, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Leeton, MO. Reverends Chris Emerson, Ray Haught, and Tom Buttram will be officiating, others are welcome to share their good memories, stories, or just share a celebration of Cheryl's life.
