Cheryl Ann (Clayton) Poandl, age 81, of Warrensburg passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born on September 3, 1943, in Ogden, Utah to Paul and Verda Clayton.

On March 31, 1964, she and Stephen Poandl were united in marriage.

Cheryl loved spending time outdoors with her husband and his horses. Together, they raised their son Greg. She worked for over 25 years at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Cheryl is survived by her son Greg (Nina) Poandl of Warrensburg; brother, Tommy Clayton of Utah; brother-in-law Wayne Poandl of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister-in-law Gerri Gary of Beaver Dam, KY; and sister, Pauline (Bard) Vance of Bountiful, UT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Verda Clayton, her husband, Stephen Andrew Poandl, and a son, Keith Robert Poandl.

The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg, Missouri.
