Lt. (Ret.) Coleman James Wright, age 89, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.

Coleman was born on January 19, 1934 in Jefferson City, MO., the son of Cecil and Alice Wright. He joined the Navy in 1951 during the Korean War. Before returning for duty, he was united in marriage to Loretta Taylor. Upon completing 23 years in the military, Coleman retired in Warrensburg, MO. to attend UCM. He graduated with a Master's in High School Science and taught for several schools in the area.

Coleman is survived by his wife Loretta Wright; two children Pamela Derks (Doug) of Osage Beach, MO. and Coleman J. Wright, II of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren Justin Bostick, Christian Wright, Jamie Neilsen, Jessica Pauly, and Cameron Derks; as well as several great-grandchildren. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. We know he is at peace in his Heavenly Home.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg, MO. on Monday, February 27, 2023, officiated by Father Gabe Lickteig. Burial services followed at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City, MO., officiated by Father Brad Berhorst of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
