Crystal
Green
May 20, 1943 — Jun 7, 2024
Crystal Adele Green, age 81 of Warrensburg, MO, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024 at her home.
She was born on May 22, 1943, in Russell, KS, to Loyal Lee (Jim) Newton and Charlotte Irene Helscher Newton. She, along with her older brother Tom and younger brother Mike were raised throughout rural Kansas, including Russell, Natoma, Wellington, Stafford and Preston. Crystal graduated from Preston High School in 1961, and went on to Pratt County Community College, but enjoyed attending high school class reunions in Stafford, where she spent most of her high school years.
On May 12, 1963 she was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Green. They had a wonderful marriage and celebrated 40 years together before his death in 2003.
Crystal is survived by her two children, Shelly Green and Jim Green, both of Warrensburg, MO, four grandchildren, Tyler Parr, Jackson Green and his wife Alison and their children Marley (5) and Finn (4), Haley Parr and Noah Green. She often reflected on how lucky she was to live near her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed everyone getting together for a meal and some craziness, several times a month. Everyone loved going to Grams' house.
She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Thomas A. Newton, Tahlequah, OK and Michael E. Newton and wife Diana, Wichita, KS, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry and her parents along with several cherished in-laws, cousins and nephews.
Crystal requested no formal service. The family will gather in a few weeks to celebrate Crystal's life. When you lose someone, people want to help. We have felt it! There is nothing we really need, but if you want to celebrate the life of one of the sweetest, funniest, kindest and most caring people ever to have lived, do so by just doing something nice for someone, whether it be a smile, a compliment, giving the benefit of the doubt, forgiving a friend or family member, or if you are so compelled, donating to a shelter, a food pantry or a person in need at the grocery store. Most of all, lead with kindness, just like Crystal did. Peace.
