Obituary

Dale Franklin Repp, age 89, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at Lee's Summit Medical Center.

Dale was born in Centerview, MO on April 24, 1933 to John and Vera (Weigand) Repp and lived around Centerview and Warrensburg during his early years. As a young adult, Dale entered the Army, gaining the rank of Corporal before being honorably discharged in 1961.

After he left the military, Dale worked for Havens Steel for most of the rest of his working years. He was highly respected and loved his work, even doing a lot of travel to manage different jobs around the country. He worked his way up over the years to attain the position of Plant Manager at the Ottawa, KS steel manufacturing plant. In his spare time, Dale loved to garden, fish and hunt - activities that family and friends were able to share and are a source of fond memories.

After his retirement, he moved to Truman Lake in Warsaw, MO to spend more time fishing but had a hard time giving up his work. He ended up coming out of retirement to take on work overseas for Havens, working two years in Russia and two years in China where he met and married his wife Kitty. They came back to the US and then worked in Little Rock for several more years. He finally retired at around the age of 75 and moved back to Warsaw, MO where he and his wife Kitty enjoyed lots of fishing and gardening.

His many years of struggling with diabetes started to impact his health more and more but he didn't let that slow him down much until last year. After a hard fight, he passed away on February 6th, 2023 from kidney failure at the age of 89.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kitty; children John Repp of Pleasant Hill, MO, Randy Lewis and wife Cindy of Armstrong, MO, Amber Chiles and partner Todd Storbeck of Shawnee, KS, and Tommy Wei and wife Ruby of Salina, KS; sister Lynn McAllister and husband Jerry of Higginsville, MO; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Vera (Weigand) Repp and brother, Gary Repp.
