Obituary

Dominick was born on December 21, 1993 in Clinton, MO to his parents Robert Lee Carter & Kathryn Marie Downey.

On May 13, 2022, he married his wife Calie Downey. Together, they had four beautiful children: Aaryn, Carson, William, & Aaliyah.

Dom is survived by his siblings Erica, Jordan, Michael, & Tequilla; his grandmother Marylin; his uncles Johnny & Tony; his aunts April, Terry, & Carol; and his cousins Paul, Shannon, Niki, Michelle, Aly, Rebecca, Garrett, Syd, Lucas, Gracie, & Aaron.

Dom is also an uncle to Austin, Jr., Janessa, Adeece, Brayden, Karmarie, & Marcellus.

Dom was preceded in death by his grandfather John, who was his biggest inspiration. Dom was also preceded by his beloved friend Jacob, who he spent most of his youth with.

Special thanks go out to Josh Blake, Jena Branstine, Zach & Jordan Montez, Brandy Enriquez, Caleb Egbert, Michael Hayes, and Matthew Churchwell for all the emotional and physical support.

As a child, Dom always wanted to be involved with his siblings, even if it annoyed them. He enjoyed being outside, playing baseball, and doing some fishing. He spent most of his summers at his grandparents' house, helping around their land and swimming in an old horse bath, which his grandfather had turned into the family swimming pool. A famous hobby of his as a kid was collecting different weird animals, naming them, keeping them as pets, and housing them in the most bizarre places. He was such the cutest little bundle of joy when he was born, but once he sprouted into teenage years, the cuteness faded away.

As an adult, his annoyingness continued and his big personality was birthed. Dom blossomed into this ambitious, resilient, tender-hearted, energetic, and brave person. There was never a dull moment in his presence. His laugh was so loud people in the next county could hear it and wondered what was so funny. All in all, his personality was raw and real and if you didn't like it, he definitely didn't care.

Out of all his career choices, he found his passion in driving big rigs. Nothing felt more free to him than to be on the open road experiencing different environments. Apart from aggravating people and trucking, all he ever wanted was to be surrounded by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held for Dominick at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Bodie's on Pine Street in Warrensburg, MO.
