Doris Darlene Tooman, age 84, of Neosho, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born on August 30, 1937, the daughter of Merit Westley Keel and Frances Evelyn (Parsons) Keel.

Darlene was a resident of Neosho for the past 40 years. She operated a daycare out of her home for many years, caring for many kids with the help of her mother, Frankie, for whom she was also a loving caregiver. She enjoyed going to the casino with her girlfriends and loved to fish, play cards, and read paperbacks. She loved her little dog Tammy and was happy knowing that she was going to live with her dear friend Lee Jackson of Tulsa (formerly of Neosho). She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kay Keel.

She is survived by her daughter Laurie (Jim) Martin of Kingsville, MO, her devoted nephew and caregiver Todd Keel, her brother Larry (Elaine) Keel of Midland, TX, her nephews Troy and Toby Keel and their families of Midland, TX, as well as many cousins, relatives, and friends.

A private celebration of life is planned for this coming spring.

Darlene did not have a preferred charity, but she was a firm believer in getting vaccinated as well as being an organ donor. She will meet us all again in heaven.
