Edgar Lee "Ed" Lear, age 73, of Knob Noster passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at his home.

He was born July 18, 1947 in Warrensburg, the son of Orville and Glennis (Everts) Lear.

On June 27, 2015, he and Kathryn (McGovern) House were united in marriage in Knob Noster.

Ed is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his children, Anthony Lear, Eddie (April) Nelson, Lindsay Dooley, Justin (Crystal) Truelove, Justin House, and Dan (Kelly) Dooley; his grandchildren, Derrick Nelson, Stacia Nelson, Briana Dooley, and Mackenzie Dooley; numerous great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Charlie Swopes; and two nephews, Guy Swopes and Lee Daniel (Jessica) Swopes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Lear and Glennis Hull; his step-parents, T.D. Hull and Agnes Lear; and a sister, Sharon Swopes.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran Cemetery in Higginsville with full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25 at the funeral home.
