Obituary

Ellie O'Malley of Warrensburg, Missouri, was a devoted wife, educator, counselor, and woman of deep faith who touched the lives of many throughout her years of service and friendship.

Ellie shared a loving marriage with her husband, James O'Malley, for 54 years. James preceded her in death three years ago. Their life together was filled with love, family, faith, and countless cherished memories.

Ellie dedicated much of her life to helping others. She worked as a guidance counselor in area public schools and served as a Clinical Services coordinator and counselor at Western Missouri Counseling Center. She also taught psychology-related courses as an adjunct instructor for Columbia College and Park College at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster.

Beyond her professional life, Ellie had many passions that brought joy to others. She loved playing the violin at church and especially enjoyed visiting elementary schools, where she would entertain and connect with children through her beloved puppets. Her warmth, creativity, and ability to make people smile made these experiences especially meaningful.

Ellie was a woman of strong Catholic faith. She loved the Catholic Church and found comfort, guidance, and strength in reading her Bible. Her faith was an important part of her life and shaped the compassion and kindness she showed to those around her.

Ellie will be remembered for her caring heart, dedication to helping others, love of children and music, devotion to her faith, and the lasting impression she made on the many people fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, former students, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg, Missouri with a funeral service to follow.
