Ernest Maurice Carpenter, age 73, of Warrensburg, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at his home.
He was born November 2, 1952, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Benjamin and Irene Marie (Hamilton) Carpenter.
On August 14, 1981, he and Iris Pfau were united in marriage in Miami, FL.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Iris Carpenter; his children, Eric (Terry) Carpenter, Eva (Matt) Williamson, and Sylvia (Austin) Gelbach; his grandchildren, Avery, James, Rylan, Jaden, Olivia, Owen, and Maxwell; and eight siblings, Ben Carpenter, Geri Carpenter, Royce Carpenter, Darrell Carpenter, Kevin Carpenter, Brenda Carpenter, Dee Johnson, and Sheri Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marie Carpenter; and three siblings, Marvin Carpenter, Bruce Carpenter, and Pat Booker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Sid Tiller officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at the funeral home.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League and left in care of the funeral home.
