Gary Lloyd
Poe
Jul 19, 1950 — Nov 21, 2025
Gary Lloyd Poe, 75, of Brookline, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by love, and his best friend Wiggles.
Gary was born July 19, 1950, in Holden, Missouri, to Helmer Harrison Poe and Florence Alifair Poe. He grew up in the Blairstown area and later moved to the Springfield area where he spent his life working hard, telling jokes, and making everyone around him feel like family. Gary loved his family. Gary never met a lawn he wasn't itching to improve. He loved making the landscape look better. He loved fishing, grilling out, and spoiling his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces every chance he got. He loved his little dog Wiggles who brought him so much love, companionship, and filled his life with happiness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and other loved ones who were waiting to welcome him home.
Gary is survived by his three children:
Marsha Gayle Walker (51) of Republic, MO
Christina Lynn King (57) of Springfield, MO
Dean Andrew King (56) of Springfield, MO
His beloved grandchildren:
Jacob Lee Walker (27), Alex Logan Walker (29), Cody Lane Walker (30), Danny Allen Poe (32), Ashlee Mae King (30), Austin Marshall King (30), and Sarah Mikalynn Butters (37)
His precious great-grandchildren:
Amiyah Victoria Young (13), Azrael Osiris Walker (3), Kylah Ashli Todd (18), Anthony Michael Todd (15), Alice Elaine McGinn (7), and Jayce Andrew McGinn (4)
His loving brothers and sisters:
James Lee Poe of Syracuse, MO, Dennis Dale Poe of Barlow, KY, Denise Gayle Ribas of Elkland, MO, and Patricia Lynn O'Riley of Golden City, MO
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss his quick wit and big heart.
Visitation will be held November 26 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Sweeney-Phillips Holdren Funeral Home 617 N Maguire St., Warrensburg, MO 64093. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025, 2:00 pm. Burial will follow service at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Gary will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, Uncle, Cousin, and friend. He's gone to live with Jesus now-no more pain, no more worries, just eternal peace and love. How beautiful the landscape must be up there.
