Helen Marguerite Nelson passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on August 22, 1935, in Waterloo, IA, to Fern Slutts and Ruth Gretchen. Helen was a beloved mother, and grandmother.

Helen is survived by her two children, son Ken Nelson and wife Marie of Grandview, MO, and daughter Kathy Donham and husband Brian from Havelock, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Nelson of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth R Nelson III of Baltimore, MD, Krystal Beno of Hannover, PA, Kathleen Handel of Hannover, PA, Kyle Donham and wife Jamie of Newbern, NC.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth R. Nelson Sr. and daughter Joy Nail. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, MO, at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 19, 2023, followed by a graveside service at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens at 11:00 A.M. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Helen's memory.
