Helen Jean Nichols, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born on Monday, September 4, 1944, in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Guy Willcockson and Geraldine Riley.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Amy (D.D.) Stoneking; son, Mike Miller; four sisters, Donna Rae (Bill) Martin, Linda Lou (Ralph) Sites, Susan Kay (John) Lankford and Connie Sue (Henry) Tate; one brother, Donnie (Becky) Willcockson, grandchildren, Robbie (Rachelle) Miller, Trevor (Carissa) Stoneking, Jennifer (Nathan) Carter, Travis (Lilly) Miller, Tyler Stoneking, Lauren (Eric) Bauer and Kimberly (Cody) Witt; great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor and Rylie Miller, Cason Stoneking, Gauge Schlagle, Bella, Charleigh, Oakleigh Miller, Vaeda Grace and Riot Witt.

She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Miller; her parents, and one brother, Ronnie Willcockson; her first husband, Lawrence Lee Miller and second husband, James E. Nichols.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Whitmore officiating.

Memorial contributions are to be made to the Hope Lodge in Kansas City and may be left in care of the funeral home.
