Helen Frances Shackelford, age 98, of Warrensburg, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at her home with her four children by her side.

She was born June 20, 1925, at home in rural country Higginsville, the daughter of Dewey Francis and Ella Frances (Anson) Fitzgerel.

She graduated from Farmers High School in 1943.

On March 24, 1944, she and Lee B. Shackelford were united in marriage in Kansas City, KS.

Helen is survived by her children, Earl Lee (Pallas) Shackelford, Carol Sue Lynde,  Vickie Jane Shackelford-Glover and Tony Alan Shackelford; her grandchildren, Steven Shackelford, Joe Shackelford, Seth Shackelford, William Lynde, Robert Lynde, Curtis Glover, Trisha Shackelford, Katlin Shackelford, Samantha Shackelford-Legleiter, and Cynthia Fleming; her sister, Ruby Hayes; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Younce; 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, with another one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee B Shackelford, her parents; her brothers, Jack Fitzgerel and Jewel Fitzgerel; and a sister, Margie Marsh.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Liberty Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Celebration of life will be that afternoon from 3:30 pm-7:00 pm at Milestones Barn, 380 MO-13 Business, Warrensburg, MO 64093.

Pallbearers will be Steven Shackelford, Joe Shackelford, Seth Shackelford, William Lynde, Robert Lynde, and Curt Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be Trisha Shackelford, Katlin Shackelford, Samantha Shackelford-Legleiter, Cynthia Fleming, Tom Bayless, Alan Gross, Jack Livingston, Mitchell Bell, and Matt Shackelford.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Liberty Cemetery in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
