James Edward Schnakenberg, age 78, of Warrensburg, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.

He was born July 6, 1943, in Higginsville, MO the son of Martin J. and Lorraine Katherine (Heyer) Schnakenberg.

James was married to Mattie (Bollmeyer) Schnakenberg for 26 years. He spent most of his life selling at various flea markets and enjoyed meeting people and engaging them in conversation.

He is survived by his brothers, Gary Schnakenberg and Steve Schnakenberg of New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mattie; and a sister, Mary Kay Monroe of Leeton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Poe officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Johnson County Cancer Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home.
