Obituary

Jane Lee (Dyer) Russell, age 88, of Warrensburg, MO passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Donna, TX.

Jane was born January 29, 1936, in Higginsville, MO, the daughter of Marion P. and Hazel (Pollock) Dyer. She attended Hazel Dell School in Lafayette County, Farmers School, and graduated from Warrensburg High School with the class of 1953.

On May 6, 1956, Jane was united in marriage to Norman Russell at the First Christian Church in Warrensburg. She worked at Unitog in Warrensburg for 19 years ending in a supervisor role.

She was a member of the church for more than 70 years and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the ABC Club and the WD-40s.

Jane enjoyed playing cards, dancing, growing flowers, and cruising around in her red Mustang convertible. Her passion was spending time with family and friends. She loved to host and cook for family dinners, and her rolls were the best.

She loved helping others, even into her eighties, and she broke the 100 hour mark delivering Meals on Wheels.

Jane was a wonderful mother with a strong work ethic, the patience of a saint, and a strong faith that allowed her to navigate great adversity.

Jane had a passion for living; she was a true example of how to live life.

Jane is survived by her children, Renee (Allen) Shackelford, Tom (Danna) Russell, and Andrew Russell; her grandchildren, Robin (Tim) Bull, Jenn Ahlquist, Kyle (Kandice) Shackelford, and Ethan (Melissa) Shackelford; her great grandchildren, Logan Bull, Jack Bull, Amelia Bull, Charlotte Bull, and Lincoln Ahlquist; and a sister, Candace (Steve) Roberston.
