Janis E. Galvin was born March 22, 1946 in Warrensburg, MO to the late Robert (father) and Dorothy (mother) Anderson. She departed this life Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Janis graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1964. She worked at Harmon Industries for over 30 years where she retired.

Janis was married to Walter Galvin from May 28, 2004 until his passing. She was a faithful member of Warren Street United Methodist Church in Warrensburg until she moved to Leavenworth, KS and attended Sunflower Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Calvin Lewis until her death.

Her favorite pastime was reading, cooking and spending time with family. She was known for her faithfulness and being a tireless worker in the house of The Lord.

Janis was proceeded in death by both parents, her sister Jessie Nesbit and her husband. She leaves to cherish her memory; her beloved son Philip White, her brother Robert Anderson, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg, Missouri.
