Jerome Henry
Yehle
Mar 24, 1939 — Sep 30, 2026
Jerome "Jerry" Henry Yehle, 87, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he had resided for the past five and a half years.
Jerry was born on March 24, 1939, in Maryville, Missouri. An avid athlete during his high school years, he enjoyed sports throughout his life. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1964, followed by two additional years in the Army Reserves through 1966.
After returning home from military service, Jerry began a long career in security at the General Motors Leeds Plant in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked until his retirement in July 1992. He was also a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, North, for 55 years.
Jerry was a strong, guarded, and deeply independent man who lived by his own convictions. He could be stubborn and uncompromising, but beneath that hard exterior was a heart that cared deeply.
Jerry was the kind of man who handled things. When his family needed something, he stepped in. He worked hard, provided for the people he loved, and showed his care more through action than words.
His love of sports continued throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing the lakes of the Midwest, playing golf and baseball, and watching basketball. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when it came to the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved football in general and could always find a game to watch.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Ann Louise Yehle; his two children, Eric Allan Yehle and DeAnna Maree Yehle; and his four grandchildren, Jessica Yehle Garcia, Kyle Yehle, Eric Yehle II, and Samantha Hope Yehle.
Jerry will be remembered for his strength, independence, enormous heart, and the many ways he made sure his family was cared for.
A Requiem Mass will be held on October 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, North. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in the Kansas City Northland.
