John Fredrick Howard, age 83, of Knob Noster, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at his home.

He was born March 31, 1943, in Leeton, MO, the son of Lemuel Dencil and Francis (Wheatley) Howard.

On October 8, 1966, he and Jeanetta Marie Donovan were united in marriage in Iola, KS.

John is survived by his wife, Jeanetta "Jeanie" Howard; his son, James Howard and wife, Rebecca Guy, daughter Debbie Wood, and son John "Denny" Howard and wife, Karie; two brothers, Jerry Howard and Dewayne Howard; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Chaplain John Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lary Lehman, David Lehman, Sean Howard, Daniel Howard, Connor Wood, and Steven Roberts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice and left in care of the funeral home.
