John Odes Rieks, age 73, of Concordia, MO peacefully passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home.

John was born to Richard and Laura (Warren) Rieks March 25, 1949, in Orland, CA.

John was united in marriage to Teresa Lynn Ramage June 1, 2009 in Concordia, MO.

John served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He also loved his pets as well as traveling to the Caribbean.

John is survived by his wife Teresa Rieks;  daughter Waynette Rieks from Nashville, TN; Brother David Rieks (Anna) of Leander, TX; Sister Sharon Bargfrede of Sweet Springs, MO. Sister-in-law Ladwell Rieks of Florida; stepdaughter Pamela Blair ( John) of Ballard, MO; stepsons George Gillespie (Kelly) of Raymore, MO, Robert Gillespie (Rhonda) of Lee's Summit, MO; Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his brother Richard Rieks (Dick) and sister Shelia Rieks (Cain) and husband Freddie Cain.

A funeral service will be held at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren funeral home in Warrensburg, MO Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11am. A visitation will be held from 10am until the time of service.  The officiant will be Terry Hodges.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Odessa Church Youth Activities and left in the care of the funeral home.
