Karen L. Elwell, age 60, of Warrensburg, Mo., died Friday, October 29, at Kansas City Hospice House.

She was born July 16, 1961, in Warrensburg, Mo., the daughter of William F. "Bill" and Ann (Christopher) Elwell.

Karen was a graduate of Warrensburg High School class of 1979.  In 1984, she graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Karen was currently working for Bernard Tax & Bookkeeping and was a co-owner of Central Financial Services.

She loved going to rock concerts all over the U.S. and Broadway shows in NYC.

She is survived by her sister, Kelly Elwell of Blue Springs, Mo.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, William F. "Bill" Elwell, her mother Ann (Christopher) Elwell, and her sister Christiane Elwell.

A private service will be coordinated by Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.

Memorial contributions are suggested to The Food Center of Warrensburg, Mo., or the Warrensburg Senior Center – Home Delivered Meals and both can be left in care of the funeral home.
