Karen M. Shackelford, age 77, of Laurie, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born April 20, 1949, daughter of the late Glenn and Mercedees (Stetter) Beach.

On July 16, 1976, in Warrensburg, she was united in marriage to Randall Wayne Shackelford, who preceded her in death on October 29, 2020.

Teaching was more than a profession, it was a calling she faithfully embraced for over 20 years, touching the lives of her family and countless students with her kindness, patience and dedication. A devoted member of the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie, she found great joy in serving through the Vacation Bible School children's ministry and faithfully organized the annual VBS Golf Tournament fundraiser each year at Indian Rock Golf Course.

Karen was a gifted crafter who enjoyed quilting, beadwork and sewing, creating beautiful handmade treasures for those she loved. She also enjoyed spending time on the golf course, where she made many cherished memories with family and friends.

Her servant's heart, faith and generous spirit will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her children, Kimberley M. Bruner and husband Daniel of Texas and Phillip W. Shackelford of Arizona; grandchildren, Katelyn, Tanner, MaKayla, Keira, MaKenna, Drake and Hunter; her brothers, Vernon Beach and wife Margie of Washington and Charles Beach and wife Kathryn of Texas and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. A celebration of life will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. A graveside service will then be held at Liberty Cemetery in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the VBS Golf Tournament Fundraiser at the West Lake Christian Church.
