Katherine Irene Colster, age 85, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Meadow View Nursing Home in Harrisonville, Missouri.

She was born September 20, 1935, in Columbus, Missouri, the daughter of John Robert and Lilian Mae (Bransteitter) Colster.

After graduating from College High in 1954, Katherine went to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She did clerical work for the F.B.I. in Washington D.C. for approximately 6 years before transferring to the Kansas City office where she worked until her retirement in 1995. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and was on a competitive traveling team. She also was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, following both teams closely throughout her life and holding season tickets to the Royals for many years.

Katherine is survived by her brother Robert 'Gene' Colster and wife Jane of Holden; three nephews; two nieces; several great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Forrest Hill Cemetery (6901 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Missouri) with the Rev. Dr. Randy Neal officiating. Interment is under the direction of the Campbell-Cast Funeral Home.
