Kitty Renee (Hughes) Teeter, age 67, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center from dementia, which she struggled with for several years.

Kitty was born on May 16, 1956 and was raised in the Caruthersville, MO area before graduating from high school in 1974. She married David Teeter in July 1986 before leaving the Bootheel in 1988 and eventually moving to Warrensburg in 1991.

She began working at Action Realty Co. as Elvin Maloney's secretary at that time and began selling real estate full time in 1998 or 1999. Due to her illness, she retired in 2019 after a successful career selling homes. Her personality was her biggest asset at her job, acquiring another friendship with almost every sale.

Kitty was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Delpha Hughes as well as her daughter Chasity Womble Tate. Surviving family members include husband David Teeter; granddaughter Halle Womble of Lee's Summit, MO; Scott and Megan Teeter of Lee's Summit, MO; Joshua and Kiara Teeter of Poplar Bluff, MO; Dustin and Chelsea Teeter of Steele, MO; and sister Terri and Chris Kinney of Noblesville, IN. Grandchildren, along with Halle, are Christian, Noah, Eli, Madeline, Isabella, Cameron, and Jenna.

Her struggles of doing normal day-to-day activities are over as God welcomes her into heaven with her family members already there.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
