Obituary

Larry Ray Mitchell, of Missouri, was born on July 17, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Russell Mitchell and Delphine Marie (Davis) Mitchell. He passed away on November 3, 2026.

Larry married the love of his life, Nancy (Patti) Mitchell, in October 1979. She preceded him in death, but their love and the memories they shared remained an important part of his life.

Larry was a funny, loving, caring, artistic, and playful man who was known for being a little ornery and always enjoying a good scare. He had a special way of bringing laughter and fun wherever he went. He was talented with woodworking and lovingly made bunk beds and rocking horses for his grandchildren, creating pieces they could cherish for years to come.

Some of Larry's happiest memories were made outdoors, surrounded by family and friends. He was known for pitching a tent, building a campfire, and making memories together. He even became known for the special shirts he would make for people during these outings. He loved tubing and skiing and enjoyed gathering friends and family at Pomme de Terre Lake. Above all, Larry adored his grandchildren, and they adored him right back.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Joy Jones of Warsaw and Carey Cadwallader (Joshua Noyer) of Eldon, Missouri; his son, Joshua Beadles of New Haven, MO; and his grandchildren, Travis Barnett, Hailey Mitchell (Anthony), Tanner Jones (Kailee), Taylor Goodman (Kevin), Emaleigh Cadwallader, Garrett Cadwallader, and Gavin Cadwallader. He also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Holloway, Patricia Ryan, and Diane Lane, and his brother, William Stoneburger.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Delphine Mitchell, a sister, Dixie Stoneburger and love of his life and best friend, Nancy Mitchell.

Larry leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, love, handmade treasures, campfire stories, playful memories, and countless moments that will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of a man who knew how to make life a little more fun and whose love will continue through the generations.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
