Lorna Betty Smelley, age 86, of Knob Noster, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at Western Missouri Medical Center.

She was born October 25, 1937, in Ipswich, England, the daughter of Henry and Barbara (Goddard) Charity.

On July 27, 1981, she and Emmette Smelley were united in marriage.

Lorna is survived by her husband, Emmette Smelley; her daughter, Rose-Marie Robinson; and a brother, Ivan Charity.

She was preceded in death by her son, Johnathan Smelley.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Brother Charles Brant officiating. Inurnment will follow in Knob Noster Cemetery.

A celebration will follow at the Knob Noster VFW.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Old Drum Animal Shelter and left in care of the funeral home.
