Lyla Marshall, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

She was born June 1, 1940, to Louis Henry Doerflinger and Alexina Margaret Peterson. On April 7, 1957, she married the love of her life, Billy Dale Marshall, with whom she shared many wonderful years.

Lyla was a happy, positive, and outgoing woman who was truly the life of the party. She loved people and never knew a stranger. Her family was especially dear to her, and she treasured the time she spent with them. Lyla also loved following and watching Billy's music throughout the years and enjoyed dancing whenever she had the opportunity.

She is survived by her children, Babs Bratten (Roger) of Sedalia, MO; Dale Marshall (Christy) of Lee's Summit, MO; and Cathy Dandurand (Jerry) of Odessa, MO; her grandchildren, Kasey (Chad), Lynette (Mike), Brooke (Lalo), Marshall (Krissy), and Isaac (Mia); her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jonzel, Jacob, Payton, Tanner, Madison, Dominick, Israel, Deacon, and Dutton; and seven siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Grover Park Baptist Church in Warrensburg, MO. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service. A graveside service will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Show-Me Christian Youth Camp.

Lyla will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
