Obituary

Margaret "Meg" Ann Mehrle Stroder, a sweet-tempered soul who loved to laugh, passed into heaven on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the age of 88.

Meg was born November 4, 1933 in a house on Cape Rock Dr., Cape Girardeau, MO, the fourth daughter of Werner and Zetta Mehrle, who had six girls in all. She worked at the shoe factory in Jackson, MO where she met her future husband Bobbie Franklin Stroder. Bob and Meg married May 16, 1959 and had 52 wonderful years of marriage together. They had two children, Perry Lee Stroder, and Kenda Lea Stroder Glidewell. Bob went to be with Jesus on August 20, 2011.

Meg was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, of the Baptist faith. An active member of her church, she taught Sunday School, worked with church youth groups, and sang alto in the church choir. She also served on many different committees in her home church.

She graduated from cosmetology school and was a beautician for many years.  Meg also sold Avon for 30+ years. She loved making people feel beautiful and always fussed over her loved ones' hair.

She loved playing card games and cooking homemade biscuits, cakes, and pizzas. In her later years, she enjoyed water aerobics, computer games, and visiting with her daughter Kenda, who spent years taking care of her. Meg was full of good humor, encouragement, love, and was an abundantly generous person. She had a servant's heart, and could always find a reason to laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three sisters and four brothers-in-law: Virginia Heuer (Bob), Edith Eggers (Bill), Carolyn Ragsdale (Bill), and Homer Lamb, and two nephews, Tony Robertson and David Ragsdale.

Meg is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law: Mary Lamb of West Plains, MO, Alice Robertson (Wade Robertson) of Wagner, OK, her children, Perry (Gina) Stroder and Kenda (Jeff) Glidewell; Six grandchildren: Hannah, Seth, Emma, and Rebekah Stroder, Lauren and Dawson Jones, and step-grandchild Levi Glidewell; Several nieces and nephews: Ben, Richard, David Eggers, Diane (Eggers) Schweer, Kelli (Heuer) Preston and Brian Heuer, Robin Worley, Terri  (Worley) Ball, Jeanneane (Worley) Palczewski, Linda (Lamb) Thompson, Mark and Bruce Robertson, Melanie (Robertson) Wai, Debbie (Ragsdale) Lozano, Jonathan Ragsdale, Thomas Rumfelt, Paul Kluttz, and Becky (Kluttz) Hagen, Sherrie (Young) Swan, Anna (Young) Bush, and Jeff Young. The family has always been a close-knit and wonderful support system for Meg.

She will be dearly missed.
