Marvin Roy Hirt, son of Delmar R. and Florence (Wagoner) Hirt, was born on April 3, 1932 in Anderson County, Kansas. Early in life, at the age of 15 years, he accepted Christ as his Saviour, being baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church on December 7, 1947, where he remained faithful.

On July 11, 1954, he was united in marriage to Catherine Elsie Knaus. This union was blessed with one son and two daughters. With the Lord's blessing, he provided well for his family as a farmer in west central Missouri and eastern Kansas. He enjoyed the work of the Church and served in the office of deacon for nearly 34 years.

After a few months of rapidly declining health, he departed this life on October 29, 2021 at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 26 days. Surviving are his wife; one son, Daniel and his wife Janet; one daughter, Drusilla; one granddaughter, Abigail and her husband Clement Slothour; one brother, David and his wife Erma; brother and sisters-in-law Anna Hirt Beeghley, Martha Knaus, and John Knaus and his wife Zelda.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his stepfather, Paul Wolf; one daughter, Esther; one brother, Clyde; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Olive Barton and her husband Melvin.

He will be greatly missed, but we commit him into the Hands of a faithful Creator in hope of the first resurrection.
