Maxine Marie
Pearson
Feb 25, 1932 — Apr 2, 2025
Maxine Marie (Warila) Pearson, age 93, passed away peacefully in her home on April 2nd, 2025. She was born to Mary Vanderloos Warila and Toivo Warila on February 25th, 1932, in Red Lodge, Montana.
Maxine grew up in Butte, Montana, after moving there as a young child. She met David, who was attending college in Butte. They married on August 17th, 1952. After David graduated, he entered the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant, and Maxine became a military spouse. They lived in Alabama, St. Louis, Missouri, Japan, Massachusetts, South Dakota, California, Nebraska, and finally Warrensburg, Missouri (in 1975). During that time, she raised six children and was involved in various organizations on many Air Force bases. After they settled in Warrensburg, she went into real estate, worked for United Way, and was the secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from which she retired. While David was on active duty, Maxine traveled (camped) with the family all over the United States and Canada. After retirement, she and David traveled to Europe several times (Ireland, England, Germany, and Italy), as well as Panama. She also traveled to the Israel with members of Sacred Heart. Maxine was a wonderful seamstress (making many of her clothes, and that of her daughters). She and David square danced for many years (Japan, Massachusetts, California, and Nebraska). Maxine was an avid bridge player, read prolifically particularly biographies, and fantastic cook.
Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Pearson. She is survived by her children, Karen Knight, Kristine Pixler (Gary), Mark Pearson, Kathie Hake, Eric Pearson (Cindy), and Dane Pearson; grandchildren Aubrey Sabba (Kash), Jennifer Bates (Josh), David Pearson, Angela Crowley (Adam), Robert Pearson, Adam Knight (Catherine), Robert Hake, Matthew Pearson (Laura), William Pearson, James Pearson, Alexandrea Pixler, Zachariah Pixler; as well as great grandchildren Jordan Pearson, Hudson Crowley, Benjamin Bates, Charlotte Knight, Forest Crowley, Abigail Bates, Theodore Knight, and Arya Sabba.
The visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm, April 10th, 2025, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home, 617 N. Maguire Street, Warrensburg, Missouri. The funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 S. Ridgeview Drive, Warrensburg, followed by internment at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the church after the interment.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Pearson, Dane Pearson, Robert Hake, Matt Pearson, Jordan Pearson, and Zachariah Pixler.
