Michael Dale
Craig
Sep 18, 1952 — Sep 14, 2026
Michael "Mike" Dale Craig was born September 18th, 1952, and passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 73 in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Beverly Craig; sister Jacalyn Magee; and his daughter, Tracy Craig.
Mike moved to Warrensburg, Missouri when he was twelve years old. Mike spent over five decades building his life with his high school sweetheart, Ginny. He dedicated much of his career by continuing the family-owned overhead garage door business and later starting his own business building homes, where he took pride in creating places for others to make memories.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing with friends, searching for arrowheads, cheering on the Royals and Chiefs, or spending time at the Elks Lodge playing cards- always hopeful for a royal flush! At home you could usually find him drinking an ice-cold coke or banana milkshake.
Mike will be remembered for his strong work ethic, the friendships he built throughout his life and celebrating with good friends when given the opportunity. His memory will live on in the stories he shared.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Virginia "Ginny" Craig; sister Karee Craig; and son Brandon (Kelly) Craig. Grandchildren include: Skyler (Meagan) Craig, Kaitlin (Seth) Houston, Reagan and Mason Craig; and three great grandchildren; Gracie, Colson and Kasen.
The family will be hosting a Come as You Are- No service. No speeches. No dress code (unless you would like to wear camo or hunting attire to represent Mike's favorite activity). Just food, drinks, stories, and time together. Come by, stay a while and share a memory if you would like at Magnolia Manor, 419 Fairground Avenue, Higginsville, Missouri, on October 1st from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Virginia Craig to assist with expenses. Donations may be made directly to her or left at Sweeney Phillips Funeral home on her behalf.
