Obituary

Minnie Lee Patrick, 86, passed away at her home in Warrensburg, MO on September 27th, 2026.

She was born on February 9th, 1940 in Chico California, the daughter of Herbert C. and Lillie Mae Cobb. Her family moved that same year to live on a farm north of Warrensburg. She attended Farmers Grade School, College High School and CMSU where she earned her BSE and MSE Degrees.

Minnie married Norman R. Patrick on September 9th 1960. They bought their first home in Grandview, MO where she taught Junior High History for six years. They welcomed their son Scott while in Grandview in 1966. Minnie accepted a position as an Academic Advisor at CMSU in 1969 and they moved back to Fayetteville where they built a home next to Minnie's parents. She loved her job for 28 years before retiring in 1997.

Minnie and Norman loved to travel. Besides seeing all 50 states they also enjoyed many cruises plus trips to Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, New Zealand and Easter Island just to name a few of their most memorable destinations. Minnie and Norman also loved being snowbirds in South Padre Island for the month of February each year where they met up with her cousin Earl Finch and his wife Mary and later Barb Rhodes who also accompanied her yearly after Norman passed away.

Minnie was a member of the Western Missouri Medical Center Auxiliary. She and Norman were also members of Warrensburg Wheels Car Club where they enjoyed the friends they made while showing their 57 Chevy. But we all know Minnie's favorite club was The WD-40s where she made lifelong friends and enjoyed Wednesday morning coffee, lunch out and also many New Theatre Restaurant and Lyceum Theatre productions plus other outings.

In 2019 Minnie moved to Warrensburg to live with Scott and Tonya and enjoyed a separate living space downstairs. She loved being closer to all her Warrensburg friends and activities. Living with Scott and Tonya also meant instant access to seeing Morgan, Shaun when they visited and of course her two favorite members of the family, great-granddaughters Lillie Mae and Andi Lou. She loved watching them play, swim and craft. And they loved that GiGi had extra snacks and ice cream at the ready.

Minnie leaves behind her son, Scott William Patrick and wife Tonya; granddaughter Morgan Lee Treloar and husband Shaun; and her two great-granddaughters, Lillie Mae Treloar and Andi Lou Treloar and many family members and friends she cared deeply for.

Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her parents Herbert and Lillie Mae Cobb and her brother Earl Cobb. She was also preceded in death by her beloved cousin Janet (Finch) O'Bannon whom she loved very much and considered the little sister she never had.

A celebration of life will be held on October 3rd, 2026 at Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg.
