Norma Jane Kanellis, 96, of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Holden Manor Health and Rehabilitation in Holden, Missouri.

Norma was born on May 20, 1930, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Howard and Iola Richardson. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Patricia Shaw and Helen Dyrland, one brother, Russell Richardson.

The family lived in Eastern Iowa and Southern Minnesota until the early 1940's when they settled in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Norma was a 1949 graduate of Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids and was a loyal and highly valued employee of Kilborn Photo Paper Company and J.C. Penny for many years. In 1974, she moved to Warrensburg to be closer to family.

She is survived by her son, Richard Kanellis, of Warrensburg, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.
