Ola Mae
Pierceall
Nov 26, 1932 — Nov 14, 2024
Ola Mae Pierceall passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff of Harmony Gardens Assisted Living, Warrensburg, MO.
Born at home November 26, 1932, in Audrain County, Ola was the second daughter born to Roy S. and Holly K (Beckley) Heizer. Ola lived her young life on the homesteaded Heizer family farm amidst the neighboring farms and her extended family near Molina, MO, entertained by her sister, her pet goats, and a pony.
After graduating from Mexico, MO High School, Ola attended the University of Missouri. She met her husband Bob while working as a secretary for the AP Green foundry in Mexico. Bob's military career took them around the country, including Washington, D.C. at Andrews Air Force Base, and bases in Oklahoma and Texas before settling in Warrensburg in 1961.
Bob and Ola have been members of the First Baptist Church since arriving in the community. She was involved in her Sunday School class and was charged with decorating for Golden Age group events. She worked at UCM (then CMSU) in the registration department as well as in administrative roles.
Ola not only pushed her children to be the best they could possibly be but loved her family unconditionally. She loved card games, especially bridge, and was considered a card shark by many with whom she played. Ola ensured that no one left hungry at any family holiday gathering. She was kind and forgiving, and she enjoyed growing red roses as much as fishing with her children and grandchildren. She taught her family to love animals as did she, through many different pets including Quack Quack the duck, who liked to follow children around the yard, much to their delight. She will be missed.
Ola is survived by her husband, Bob Pierceall with whom she had recently celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by her three children, Robin (C Daniel Smith) of St. Joseph, MO, Janice (Rick Hudson) of Warrensburg, MO, and Bruce (Michelle) Pierceall of Overland Park, KS; as well as her eight grandchildren, J. Michael (Kailee) Smith, T. Nicolas (Emily) Smith, Diane (Erick) Law, Susan (Austin) Grant, Cathy (Rory) Ballard, Ben Pierceall, Brandon Pierceall, and Katie Pierceall; she is also survived by her 11 great grandchildren, Harrison Smith, Thomas Smith, Henry Smith, Teddy Smith, Tucker Smith, Eli Grant, Mallory Grant, Emmett Law, Isaac Law, Neriah Ballard, and Della Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. A private interment will take place later at Missouri Veteran Cemetery in Higginsville.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Golden Agers club at First Baptist Church and left in care of the funeral home.
