Orville Wayne
Iiams
Apr 13, 1955 — Mar 19, 2026
Orville Wayne Iiams, known as "Jack," of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away on March 19, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.
Jack was born on April 13, 1955, in Warrensburg, Missouri, to Blanche and Orville Iiams. He grew up with strong values of hard work and service-qualities that defined his life.
On August 26, 1983, Jack married the love of his life, Melissa, at the CMSU Chapel. Together, they built a life rooted in love, dedication, and unwavering support for one another. From this union came two children, April Iiams of Warrensburg and Daniel (Kyleigh) Iiams of Warrensburg, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Jack was a proud grandfather to Kristen Iiams, Dakota Iiams, Peyton Baldwin, Grady Iiams, and Piper Iiams. He was also a devoted great-grandfather to Weston, affectionately known as "Papa's special buddy," whom he cherished deeply and spoiled at every opportunity. Jack was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another great-grandchild due in August.
A true patriot, Jack honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment he carried with pride throughout his life. He continued his service to others in his community through a distinguished 25-year career with the Warrensburg Fire Department. Beginning as a junior firefighter, he rose through the ranks to become a respected Captain, earning the admiration of his colleagues and the gratitude of those he served.
Jack found his greatest happiness outdoors, especially when fishing and hunting with his son and grandsons. He never missed the cherished tradition of their annual "Deer Man Camp" on opening day-moments filled with laughter, storytelling, and lifelong memories.
He will be remembered as a man of strength, integrity, and had a great devotion to family and friends. Jack had a firm but loving way about him, always guiding his family with care and pride. Above all, he loved his wife and family dearly, and his legacy lives on in each of them.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Rodger Iiams, William Iiams, and Tommy Iiams; and his sister, Hellen Parsons.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Veteran's Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family will be receiving friends and family at 1:30, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers please make donations payable to Warrensburg Firefighters Local 3923, with "scholarship fund" in the memo. Checks can be mailed to the Warrensburg Fire Department, 1550 Corporate Drive, Warrensburg, MO 64093.
