Paul
Oetting
Dec 9, 1949 — Nov 17, 2021
Warrensburg
Paul Oetting, age 71, of Warrensburg passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
He was born December 9, 1949 in Higginsville, Missouri, the son of Melvin Adolph and Mary (Hartwig) Oetting.
Paul received his Bachelor of Science in the arts from Central Missouri State University and began his career as a commercial artist. Paul later went into the retail industry, where he worked for 40 years. Paul was a contributor to the community by serving for years on the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club.
On May 30, 1999, he and Linda Bess were united in marriage in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Outside of his professional career, Paul was an avid lover of the outdoors which was expressed through the care he took of his yard and gardens. He and his wife had a way of drawing out butterflies, birds, and other animals to their yard, their private sanctuary. Other hobbies included frequenting flea markets in search of the next coffee grinder to add to his already impressive collection. But his favorite pastime was working with, caring for, and playing with his dogs, Mocha and JJ.
Paul is survived by his wife Linda Oetting; his children Chris Oetting and Shelley Mullins; his grandchildren Dalton Oetting, Ethan Oetting, Carson Mullins, and Cameron Mullins; a brother John (Nina) Oetting; a sister Karen (Mark) Heard; his father Melvin Oetting; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Oetting and a niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Loesch officiating. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
