Phyllis (Boland) Weinrich passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Meyer Care Center, Higginsville, MO.

Phyllis was born January 3, 1936 in Warrensburg, MO to Frank Boland and Cornelia (Tieman) Boland.

She was an active member of the Bethel United Church of Christ, Concordia, MO

Phyllis graduated from Warrensburg Public High School in 1953. After attending Central Missouri State College for two years, where she twirled a baton with the marching band, she then moved on to business college in Kansas City, MO.

On May 26, 1957 she married Vernon Weinrich of Warrensburg, MO. She was employed at Citizen's Bank for a short time, before moving on to Johnson County Courthouse, as a clerk. After a stint at the courthouse, Phyllis decided to become the mother of their two children.

In 1970 Vernon and Phyllis moved to Higginsville, MO and began farming full time. Phyllis was a 4-H Youth Leader, honing in on home economics. She served on many levels of the Pork Producers Auxiliary and  enjoyed being a member of the Salem United Church of Christ woman's group.

After farming for 15 years, Vernon and Phyllis took on a new adventure with a concessions business, traveling to many fairs and festivals throughout the state of Missouri.

Traveling became their passtime, as the two retired, as well as well as participating in country dancing. They wintered in Donna, TX for 16 years, and traveled the country with family and friends in their motorhome.

Phyllis loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and the extended family. The grandchildren enjoyed having sleepovers, making their beds on grandma's living room floor, where she would read them Dr Suess books as they fell asleep.

Phyllis' husband, Vernon Weinrich survives at their home in Warrensburg, MO. She also is survived by her children, Dwain Weinrich and wife Jerrie of Yuma, CO. Daughter Lisa  Drake, husband Doug of Cairo, MO. Grandchildren Paige Dragon, husband Jake and great grandson Mark, of Buckner, MO. Danielle Reynolds of Sioux Falls, SD, and Morgan Weinrich of Denver, CO.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, MO. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Dr. Alan Gatewood will be officiating the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Bethel United Church of Christ, Concordia, MO or Senior Center Warrensburg, MO and may be left in care of the funeral home.
