Obituary

Reba Mae Koch, age 79, of Warrensburg, MO passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg where she was in hospice care.  Reba was born in Marshall, MO on December 16, 1944 to Paris Ledford "PL" and Mary "Zula" (Dennis) Yokley.  She was baptized into the First Baptist Church of Marshall.

Reba graduated from Marshall High School in 1962.  She attended and received an Associate's degree in English from Central Missouri State University.  For several years she co-owned a home painting/renovation business.  She then spent over 30 years happily performing her life's purpose as an in-home health aid, trainer and hospice care provider.  She was rewarded with the West Central Missouri Community Action Agency's In-Home Aid and Trainer Employee of the Quarter award in 2002.

In retirement she spent her time peacefully enjoying the nature in front of her home and spending time with her family and friends.  Her greatest joy in life was her family.  She was the social center for her friend group and spent many hours laughing, listening and being with them.  She loved feeding and loving-on any four-legged animal that crossed her path.  She will be missed by many a dog, squirrel, bird and a couple of deer.  It made her kind and gentle heart the most happy to take care of others; to see them happy and healthy.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents, PL and Zula, and her brother Richard Yokley.  She is survived by her children:  Mary Koch, Karl (Jennifer) Koch, and Cindy (Dan) Nieder; as well as 6 grandchildren: Kasey Koch, Johnathan (Jessica) Nieder, Justin (Megan) Nieder, Ryan (Shelly) Hooper, Rebecca (Davin) McKinney and Julie Nieder; and 10 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by many friends who were her extended family.

A memorial service to honor and remember Reba will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10 a.m. until noon at Sweeny-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, MO.  The family-only inurnment will take place at the Yokley family cemetery in Hazel Grove Cemetery outside of Marshall, MO.
