Obituary

Robert "Ed" Teater, age 77, of Raymore passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home.

He was born November 20, 1943 in Warrensburg the son of Leland Elwood and Dorothy Lee (Swope) Teater.

Ed grew up in Warrensburg, meeting his wife Kaye Keth while attending Warrensburg High School. On June 5, 1964, he and Kaye were united in marriage in the Central Missouri State College Chapel. They were married for 56 years.

Ed was a devoted father to his two daughters and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was an avid hunter from the time he was a youth learning to hunt with his grandfather and Uncle Jack. He loved spending time in the outdoors. Ed also loved playing golf. After retiring, they moved to Granbury, TX. He and Kaye lived in Pecan Plantation, a golf community, for 11 years.

Ed was a devoted Christian, serving however he could. He loved the Lord, and it gives his family peace knowing that he is now in the arms of our Lord.

Ed is survived by his wife, Kaye Teater of Raymore; his daughters, Karrie K. Sweeton of Lake Winnebego, and Melissa Lynn Johnson of Lee's Summit; his grandchildren, Keristi Alizabeth Sweeton of Lee's Summit, James Edwin Sweeton of Lake Winnebego, and Aidan Russell Johnson of Lee's Summit; a great granddaughter Harper Lynn Sweeton; a sisters-in-law Sondra Teater and Kathy (Denny) Moore; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Carol) Keth and Kirby (Joan) Keth; an uncle Jack (Carol) Swope; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leland Teater.

Plans for a service have been postponed until spring due to COVID-19 and will be announced at a later date.
