Ronda Kay Henson-Simms, 54, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at home on Monday, July 14, 2025.

Services for Ronda will be on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., and a Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 480 Southeast State Highway DD, Warrensburg, MO 64093.

Ronda was born on April 4, 1971, to Vernon Ronald Henson and Millicent (Ruggles) Henson in Artesia, NM. She was her dad's 30th birthday present; they shared a special bond. They enjoyed celebrating their birthdays together, often going to Country Kitchen on the morning of their birthday.

She attended school in Roswell, New Mexico, until moving to Warrensburg, Missouri, with her parents in the fall of 1986. She graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1989.

Ronda had a gift of chatting with, caring about, and checking on people. When she was young, she would go around the neighborhood visiting with each elderly neighbor. She would come home and give a status report on each of them. It was not surprising to anyone that Ronda would become a nurse. She attended State Fair Community College's nursing program. She worked as a nurse in Hobbs, NM, Tulsa, Ok, at Vencor, Trinity Lutheran, and St. Luke's Hospitals in Kansas City before becoming a Clinical Research Study Coordinator and Manager for St. Luke's, PRA, and PPD.

On September 6, 2015, Ronda married Danny George Simms in Warrensburg, Missouri. The couple settled nearby, living close to Ronda's parents. Ronda and Danny lived with her parents for the past seven years, to help care for them as they aged.

Ronda was a loving, giving person. She loved her family and friends and would do anything for them. Crafting, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and country dancing were some of her favorite pastimes.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Millicent Henson. Ronda is survived by her husband, Danny George Simms; her father, Vernon Ronald Henson of Warrensburg; sister, Lee Henson Clark Butts (Corey) of Warrensburg, and brother, Alden Henson (Heather) of Atlanta, GA; many nieces and nephews including Casey Clark, Erika Iseminger (Owen), Kegan Clark, and Ryan Henson; uncles Billy Henson (Shelia), Joseph Ruggles (Cindy), and Sandy Ruggles; many cousins; Danny's children Lisa Lynch (Todd) and Jeff Simms (Jackie), their grandchildren Jackson, Oliver, Tristen, Camron, and Sydni. Danny's special cousin, Mike Mills (Sandy); Ronda's best friends Dayle, Krissy, and Melissa; and her precious dog, Darya.
