Sharon Rose Muir, age 82, of Warrensburg, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

She was born May 25, 1942, in Champaign, IL, the daughter of Roy Frederick and Helen Louise (Fitzgerald) Heimburger where she grew up on the family farm.

Following graduation from Champaign Central High School, Sharon went to Elmhurst College where she met the love of her life. On August 3, 1963, she and Robert "Bob" Muir were united in marriage in Champaign.

In 2004 Sharon and Bob retired and chose to move to Warrensburg, making it their home.

Sharon loved her family and looked forward to yearly fishing vacations with her kids and grandkids in Minnesota. They were always there to support their grandkids with their adventures and activities. Bob and Sharon were always cheering them on at their ball games, swim meets, or dance recitals.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Bob Muir; her children, Kara (Jim) Elliott, and Eric (Sherry) Muir; her grandchildren, Margaret (Omar) Torres, Amelia (Joe) Braun, Madeline (Caleb) Wickham, Zachary Elliott, and Maxon Elliott; her great grandchildren, Nora Braun, June Wickham, and Lainey Braun; and her siblings, Susan (Philip) Kesler and James Heimburger.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Judy Heimburger.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg and left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
