Obituary

Sheila Mae (Heskett) Price, 83, passed away June 27, 2026, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO. She was born on September 20, 1942, in Manhattan, KS, to William and Thelma (Rowe) Heskett.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sharon Heskett; her brothers, Don, Mike and Frank Heskett; two bonus sons, Greg and Mike Price; a niece, Kim Carr; and Travis Price.

She is survived by her two sons, Paul and Jon Price; a beloved sister, Joanne Heskett; her bonus sons, Jeff and Bryan Price; eight grandchildren: Kaley, Miranda, Ashley, Russell, Derrick, Daniel, Cody, and Stevie; nieces and nephews: Don Jr., Shelli, Brian, Michelle, Sheila, Terry, Kathleen, and Billy; her bonus daughter and grandchildren Jackie, Ryleigh and Holden Dean; her bonus daughter and good friend Sheila Kay Price; and lots of extended family and friends from the cafe.

Sheila was raised in Manhattan and spent time in post-war Germany before moving back to Manhattan where she graduated from high school in 1960. She loved music and James Dean movies in her teen years and developed a knack for debate in high school that she recalled served her well "for winning arguments my whole life!"

After graduation, Sheila lived in the Chicago and northern Indiana area where she met and married Travis Price. They had two sons, Paul and Jon. Sheila was a secretary in the bustling Chicago business district and a highly successful real estate agent in northern Indiana. She also spent some time in Alabama and South Carolina before finding her home in Leeton, MO in 1981, where she raised her boys and once again excelled as a real estate agent in the Johnson County area. Sheila then went on to operate and own Fulton's Café in Leeton, MO from 1989 until retiring in the early 2000s.

Sheila loved to travel but often remarked that, as a business owner, it was hard to find the time. She did, however, travel to Europe in 1995 visiting France, England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. She loved Las Vegas and tried to make short trips often. Sheila was a talented painter and published poet. She loved gardening, flowers, houseplants, photography, animals and the excitement of eBay commerce. She was bright, quick-witted, and fiercely loyal to her family and friends. Sheila had a commanding presence and wouldn't hesitate to set you straight if she had a differing opinion. She also never hesitated to bend an ear or lend a hand if you were in need. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
