Sheryl Ann Bachus, age 80, of Warrensburg, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Arbors at Harmony Gardens.

She was born May 2, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of William Lee and Sara Worts Decker.

On December 28, 1974, she was united in marriage to Gordon Scott Bachus.

After several years as a legal secretary in Boonville, MO, she completed her MBA at the University of Central Missouri. She enjoyed a full 25 year career of teaching in Lee's Summit R7 School District as a Business Education teacher at Lee's Summit High School. She loved family, traveling, and country music – Alan Jackson was her noted favorite.

Sheryl is survived by her stepchildren, Ellen Bachus Schmidt and Scott Thomas Bachus; two grandchildren, Ashley Marie Rackers (Aaron) from Ashland, MO, and Aubrey Ann Allen (Jay) from Jefferson City, MO; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Ellisyn, Presley, and Tripp; and a sister, Betty Decker Knowles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Sara Decker, and her husband, Gordon Bachus.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Green Cemetery in Pleasant Green, MO, County Road 135 and Hwy 50.
